The Olympia exists to give current and up-to-date news and information on all things Olympics. A lot happens in the months that the Olympic games are held, the atmosphere can be hectic but very exciting, thus people like memorabilia and to keep on track. There only tends to be magazines on Olympic games that exist and not newspapers but with the daily events that occur it felt necessary to have a daily newspaper.
The colour scheme for this issue (Cyan and Magenta) was decided based upon the brand colours of the current Olympic games at the time - Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games. There's a strong use of key brand elements, such as the bold mast head typeface, highlighted text and change of imagery colour hues.
Newspaper
The Olympia is a prototype for a tabloid newspaper, where I designed several aspects a newspaper would have to give a god range of how it would place in the real world. This included: front cover, short articles, a long read, infographics, tables, listings and the back page.
           Front cover.
Short article reads.
Long read spread.
Middle page spread treatment (infographic).
             Back page.
   Specification
The specification was a designed 4-page document to go alongside the newspaper to indicate the decisions made and essentially how the design works. I created it to resemble the actual newspaper by keeping it in a similar newspaper layout and as a whole looks cohesive and unique.
